Engage Your Audience
· Giving feeling and expression to your movement adds interest and portrays a story to your audience. Even if it's abstract movement and not a story ballet it can still alter the audiences experience by giving depth of personality to your steps. Think of it as though you are dancing a poem. Use the internal emotions that the music and steps evoke to naturally guide your movements. What the audience finds attractive is a dancer who makes them feel alive- a dancer who can translate the music and choreography into emotions felt by the audience.
